Hey thx for the comment. u asked some hard questions to answer on sponsorhouse but I will try to answer. 1st it would b good to know some basic HTML. all u really need to know is how to insert and image and make a link. http://www.w3schools.com/html/DEFAULT.asp here is some info on that. and to put music on ur profile. u have to get the code from the site i have my music player from. then u have to go to the freetext and HTML section of ur sponsorhouse. then u have to enter the code in where it says source. and u have to do this for all images and links. i know this is really complex, and it will take some tinkering with because it can b quite difficult. but once u know some basic HMTL u will b very happy. i hope this helped. |

Sunday Practice & Final Report:
Sunday practice went well, and with a gearing change and 2 step jetting change, Cory felt confident that the BRC was on tune and ready to make a podium call. Setting a morning lap of 2:19 flat with a full tank of VP fuel, Cory felt strongly that a 2:16 was achievable.
Starting 7th overall in a field of 23 karts, Cory quickly jumped out to 3rd overall behind Alan Rudolph and John West by turn 1 passing Andy Kiker, Mike Spears and Jayce Haghigi in turn one. By the end of lap 3, sitting comfortably in 4th place overall and setting his sights for the 2nd place kart of veteran racer John West, Cory noticed some water coming from the radiator cap after coming through turn 7. The cylinder head stud had backed out thus allowing exhaust gas to heat up the water and cause a over-heating problem.
After 2 more laps Cory pulled into the pits and called it a day. However, with the performance of both driver and kart prior to the over-heating, Cory was confident that Simpson Motorsports had put everyone on notice that the BRC/Anderson is going to be a contender in the remaining races this season.
When asked what he considered the highlight of the weekend's event's Cory talked about the skill and speed shown by Alan Rudolph. “Alan Rudolph absolutely had the field covered this weekend, laying down lap after consistent lap.”
Simpson Motorsports would like to sincerely thank all of the sponsors who continue to support the team: Riley Will & the team at BRC, Monster Energy, TekBolt, Proformance Oils, United Trailers, Blur Optics, Caddis Sport, and our newest sponsor Gatorade G2.
Our next race will be at the Thunderbolt Raceway at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey the weekend of September 5-7, 2008. |

Saturday Practice & Pre-Final Report: Saturday practice went well as Cory was able to perfect the gearing a bit and work on jetting which stayed pretty constant throughout the weekend. With everything seemingly in place, Cory made the morning practice and set a personal fast lap in practice of 2:20.00. Still 4 seconds a lap behind the leaders, Cory adjusted the gearing and jetting and felt confident that things were looking up. Starting the Pre-Final from the rear, Cory quickly made work of the many ICE karts in front of him and by lap 3 and was scored in 5th place overall after passing 17 karts in 2 laps. Cory fought with P-1's Pat Yoshikane for much of the race and this slowed them both down to the point that Reggie Brown was able to catch back up and get around Cory late in the race. Unfortunately, seconds after the pass by Reggie Brown, the Red Flag came out bringing the race to an abrupt end when Jim Brannon (aka Santa) rolled his kart after sliding through the sand trap in turn one. Cory had to settle for 5th place in FE behind Alan Rudolph (who set a new track record), John West, Reggie Brown and Pat Yoshikane. After returning to the pits, Curt and Cory settled in for a few hours of cleanup and inspection, re-lit the BRC, and put it away for the night. In hind sight, Cory said it was at this point that he probably should have pulled the heads and inspected the bolts but thought everything was running well so they left well enough alone. |

USSK Round 7 & 8: Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin
July 10, 2008 – Ready for Round 7 & 8 of the 2008 USSK season, Simpson Motorsports loaded up the trailer and headed 460 miles north towards the one of the best road racing tracks in the country, the historic Road America Road Course. This 3.94 mile road course is considered to be one of the finest facilities in North America and is nestled in the trees and valleys of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. At almost 4 miles long, experienced USSK Superkart drivers can turn this circuit in a time of roughly 2:14.
As the Simpson Motorsports team arrived, they took the trailer up the hill with the rest of the competitors to find temporary tenting in place for a future race and quickly found a nice area within the south corner of the massive 20*120 tent and started to unpack the trailers. With Jeff Metter, Pat Yoshikane, Loren Feldner, Alan Rudolph, Reggie Brown, and Team Texas (Jayce & Firouz Haghigi and Michael McAlister) near by, everyone settled in for some last minute tuning just as one of the most powerful thunderstorms in recent history hit the track Thursday evening.
Since there was still some work to do to the BRC power-plant, Cory and Curt settled into the hotel at roughly10pm and went to replacing the water drive gear that had failed at Mid Ohio in mid June. After 30 minutes the engine was complete and ready to be re-installed on Friday morning at the track.
Friday Practice & Qualifying Report:
After arriving at the track and thrashing on the kart for 2 hours, the Simpson Motorsports BRC was ready to make the 2nd practice. Unfortunately the “prototype” Cush Drive popped off the engine sending Cory back to the pit for a lighting quick exchange of the troubled drive for a traditional COG driver gear. Cory was able to get on the track for 1 lap before practice was over, but was able to get the engine up to temp and check out the new gear which worked flawlessly.
As Qualifying approached, Cory was set to go and lay down a fast lap, but half way through the first lap a broken o-ring on the head sent water into the cylinder causing the front cylinder to go dead. As suspected, this was a result of previous over heating problems at Mid Ohio.
After settling to start the Pre-Final from last place on the starting grid, Cory set to the pit to do some much needed work on the engine for Saturday's race. What he didn’t notice after getting the engine back together was that the over-heating problem at Mid Ohio caused one of the cylinder head studs to back out, thus stripping the head bolt which would come back to haunt him later on. |
